Krishna Janmashtami

September 20th
About the Celebration

Krishna Janmashtami

Krishna Janmashtami celebrates the divine appearance of Lord Sri Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu, born at the stroke of midnight in Mathura to restore dharma and rekindle the path of love and devotion.

At the Radha Krishna Temple of North Carolina, devotees gather for a joyous night of worship — abhishekam of the Lord, soulful bhajans and sankirtan, recitation of Krishna Janma Katha from the Srimad Bhagavatam, and the grand midnight maha-aarti marking the sacred moment of Krishna's birth. The night concludes with the distribution of maha prasad to all.

Families, children, and devotees of all ages are warmly invited to share in this night of bhakti, music, and celebration. [CONFIRM: any special guest, theme, or cultural program planned for 2026]
