To vanquish this formidable force of evil, Goddess Parvati, the divine mother of Lord Muruga, bestowed upon him the Vel—a celestial spear imbued with supreme power. Lord Muruga wielded the Vel in battle with unwavering determination, striking down Soorapadman and restoring harmony to the universe.
The Vel, a sacred emblem of wisdom and divine radiance, symbolizes the destruction of negativity and the triumph of righteousness. From that victorious day, the Thaipusam festival has been celebrated with devotion and Gratitude, honoring Lord Muruga's divine Grace.
